ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo compare the therapeutic effects between needle knife therapy combined with rotation traction manipulation and rotation traction manipulation for the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.

METHODSFrom November 2013 to June 2015, 80 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups randomly:the control group in which 39 patients were treated with rotation traction manipulation, and the treatment group in which 41 patients were treated with needle knife combined with rotation traction manipulation. The patients in the control group were treated once dayly for 2 weeks, which was 1 course. The patients in the treatment group were treated with needle knife firstly once a week for 2 weeks, which was 1 course;then were treated with the same methods as the patients in the control group. The symptoms, signs score and the therapeutic effects of the two groups before and after treatment were observed.

RESULTSAfter treatment, symptoms and signs scores declined in both groups(<0.05). The results of the treatment group were better than effects in the control group(<0.05). In the treatment group, 19 patients got an excellent result, 16 good, 5 fair and 1 bad;while in the control group, 10 patients got an excellent result, 10 good, 16 fair and 3 bad;the results of the treatment group were better than the results of the control group(<0.01).

CONCLUSIONSNeedle knife combined with rotation traction manipulation is an effective method for the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, which is better than using manipulation method simply. Needle knife therapy has follow advantages:improving local blood circulation, reducing local content of pain substance, increasing production of substances resisting pain, opening channels and collaterals, and make body reaching new static and dynamic balance on the new foundation.

ABSTRACT

The aims of microbiology experiment teaching are not only to cultivate the students’ capacity of basic operation, but also to expanse their knowledge scope. We applied the bacterial diversity on the teach-ing class to make the students understand the progress of microorganism genomics research. It is helpful to cultivate the students’ innovative spirit and ability.Easy to work, clear result and low cost facilitated the spread of this experiment in the university.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the methods of treating great saphenous varicosity by inserting optical fiber straight into EVLT.Methods Wuhan Linyun Laser Therapeutic System was introduced to treat 205 cases (257 limbs)of great saphenous varicosity.Optical fiber instead of blood vessel sheath and catheter was inserted straight into endovenous laser treatment(EVLT)through arteriovenons permanent needle was adopted. Results Operations lasted 35~55 minutes, averaging 45 minutes.Patients were hospitalized for 5~7 days.Postoperative vis- its were followed for 3~12 months, averaging 6 months. Two months after the operation, appraisal according to the curative effect evaluation criteria was carried on.The cure rate for superficial varicosity is 97.3%(250/257),for lower extremities swelling asthenia is 93.7%(150/160),for skin pigmentation is 91.8%(56/61),and for swelling is 90.9%(20/22).10 cases(3.9%)suffered from skin ambustion.9 cases(3.5%)suffered from shank anesthesia and stabbing pain.15 cases(5.8%)suffered from hypodermic tubercle. The patients had not deep venous thrombosis after the operation and the wounds healed well. Conclusion Inserting optical fiber straight into EVLT through arte- riovenous permanent needle brings about more accurate treatment. It can be operated simply, causing small wounds and less pain.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo screen the peptides binding to hepatoma specifically.

METHODSNude mice were inoculated with human tumor cells BEL-7402, then the Ph.D.-12 Phage Display Peptide Library was injected intravenously (tail vein) into mice. After 20 min the mice were sacrificed and the phage rescued from tumor tissues. All the tissues should be made an appraisal using immunohistochemistry and titering. The phage recovered from the tissues were amplified and purified then re-injected for next round screening. After screening for 3 rounds in vivo, the phage-peptides that homed to the tumor tissues or cells were obtained. Then these phage clones were sequenced to analyze the motif. All the sequenced clones were appraised by using cell ELISA and titering the distribution in vivo.

RESULTSThrough the appraisal from vivo and vitro and peptides' sequences, several target motifs were preliminarily determined.

CONCLUSIONSSome phage-peptides which could specifically bind tumor cells or tissues can be selected successfully from the random twelve-peptide library by means of phage display in vivo.
